California's esteemed pageant for married women -
where beauty radiates like our Golden State

Welcome, I am Loni Kallay, Executive Director for the Mrs. California-America Pageant, the preliminary to the only nationally recognized and televised Pageant for married women. I became involved with the Mrs. America Pageant in 1986 after my husband saw an ad in the local newspaper and thought that I could be a role model for married women. It took three years before I achieved the crown for the State of Nevada. My experience at the Mrs. America Pageant, and during the year as Mrs. Nevada, made such a positive impression on my life that I wanted to share my experience with as many people as possible. I requested and was granted the Directorship for the State of California. We moved to California and in 1993 I assumed Directorship for the State of California. I am truly blessed to be a member such a loving and supportive family as Mrs. America.

My husband Mike and I were married at Lake Tahoe, California in 1975. Our family includes our son Bill and our adorable granddaughter Alexandria.

I am a graduate of the University of San Francisco with a Masters of Public Administration and have maintained a career in sales in the medical field along with producing the Mrs. California Pageant. My goal is to touch as many lives as possible with the same encouragement and friendship that I have received over the years from having been associated with Mrs. America. I strive to build the self-esteem of the women who enter Mrs. California and to help them to realize their potential. We encourage them to work to help others.

Mrs. California-America entrants are invited to attend workshops that help them learn about themselves, the basics of participating in a pageant, about the latest makeup and hairstyles and to make friends. Interviews are a key segment of the Mrs. California-America Pageant and the first opportunity for our judges to meet the contestants. We review the interview process and provide information and education that can be used for any type of future interview. All Mrs. California contestants are treated equally with respect, interest and fairness.

Mrs. America recognized my efforts and the success of Mrs. California-America in 1996 by awarding me the Seymour Seitz Award for dedication and professional commitment to the ideals and values of the Mrs. America Pageant System.
